Prussia Perfection…

My great love is my home county of Cornwall, I love to sit and watch people enjoying themselves on the beaches and in the harbour towns…

John Dyer - a Westcountry artist

For many years before we moved to the Westcountry we were regular visitors to Cornwall to see relatives who lived in St Just. During this time, the weather became a standing joke for us, as it always rained whenever we came down to the South West. It was, therefore, with many worried glances a the sky one August morning in 2007 that we decided to go for walk and picnic at the southern end of Mounts Bay near Prussia Cove.

This photo, taken with my old film SLR as the grainy image testifies to, captured the very first sight we had of Prussia Cove on one of the most beautiful high-summer days I have ever experienced in Cornwall, the South West or anywhere for that matter. The photo, taken in portrait perfectly captured the lively holiday atmosphere emanating up from the beach below, the stunning landscape around it and the almost too good to be true sky…!!
